2012 NFL Mock Draft Picks 6-10

2012 NFL Mock Draft Picks 6-10

My mock continues with the next five picks number 6-10. The Redskins surprise us with the number six pick of the draft.  Picks: 6-10

6. WAS: Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M

The Washington Redskins will be devastated when they find that RG III will be gone by the time they pick at number six. The Redskins will take a chance and draft Quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, Texas A&M. This is quite a reach for the A&M quarterback, but the Redskins should take the chance. He’s very mobile, a bit of a project, but he can succeed in Washington’s system if they give him time to develop.

7. JAC: Melvin Ingram, OLB, South Carolina

The Jaguars need to improve their pass rush. It would be nice if they could acquire Mario Williams in Free Agency, but with their pick the Jaguars will select Outside Linebacker Melvin Ingram, South Carolina. Ingram is an amazing athlete and he can get pressure on the Quarterback. Pass rushers are a premium in the NFL and Ingram can be that for the Jaguars who have been looking to add a playmaker on defense. Ingram will be a great addition for the Jaguars come April.

8. MIA: Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa

The Dolphin’s surprisingly got a few great wins at the end of the year, showcasing their potential when they play well. The Dolphins are likely to find a Quarterback in free agency, so they will do what all teams do with their new Quarterbacks, protect them. The Dolphins will select Offensive Tackle, Riley Reiff, Iowa. Reiff is a solid tackle prospect and he continues the reign of Iowa Tackle prospects picked in the first round. He has risen on a number of draft boards and will be a solid addition to a line that produced a 1,000 yard rusher last year. Offensive lines can always improve and the Dolphins will love to protect whichever Quarterback they choose to go when the season starts.

9. CAR: Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina

The Panthers struck gold last year with Cam Newton but their defense needs to get more pressure on opposing teams defensively. The Panthers will be more than overjoyed to select Defensive End, Quinton Coples. Coples is a beast and a disruptive force on the defensive side of the ball. Some question his motor but Coples is the player the Panthers will hope to replace the rush that Julius Peppers once gave them.

10. BUF: Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford

The Buffalo Bills played well this year but they still have lots of work to do if they want to compete with the likes of the New England Patriots. In the middle of the season the Bills signed Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to a huge deal and they need to protect their new investment. The Bills will select Offensive Tackle, Jonathan Martin, Stanford. Martin was responsible for protecting golden child Andrew Luck with his time at Stanford and he will now have the opportunity to protect Fitzpatrick. Martin is a solid lineman and the Bills will be blessed to have him.
