Music Review: J. Pinder “Careless”

Music Review: J. Pinder “Careless”
By: Josue “Josh” Alvarez Mapp (a.k.a. DJ Mappquest)
So J. Pinder finally came out with his full-length CD “Careless.”  It is eight tracks of solid good soulful, hip hop goodness.  For those not sure what to expect from J. Pinder, he sounds [somewhat] like Kanye West, Common, Kendrick Lamar, Big Krit, and/or Lupe Fiasco, or a fusion of the various sounds of said artists.

It is a solid album for any hip hop lover out there.  For those looking for some good tracks off this album I recommend “Never No,” “Jet Stream,” or “Careless” are all good picks.  Still the entire album is not a solid sell for me.  Track 5, Some Kinda Star is a hint of rock in it, which is nice to show complexity and variety in the J. Pinder, but it isn’t a sound I truly like.  WZRD did that on their self-titled album which was decent but not my complete favorite.  I appreciate the ability to produce such a fusion, but it isn’t my personal preference.

Overall, J. Pinder’s “Careless” is a decent start for J. Pinder.  I can only hope he continues to build from here and move on.  Go ahead and go listen to J. Pinder yourself starting May 29th.  Look forward to hearing tracks from J. Pinder and more at 24/7/365.
