NBA November Wrap Up

So, were wrapping up the first full month of the NBA Season, and I want to go back and take a look at how my playoff predictions are holding up so far. A lot of stuff has happened in the last 30 days, and there’s already been a lot of shake ups in the L.

Pre-Season Playoff Predictions:

Eastern Conference:
1.Miami Heat
2.Indiana Pacers
3.Boston Cetics
4.Philadelphia 76ers
5.New York Knicks
6.Chicago Bulls
7.Brooklyn Nets
8.Atlanta Hawks

Western Conference:
1.Oklahoma City Thunder
2.Los Angeles Lakers
3.San Antonio Spurs
4.Los Angeles Clippers
5.Memphis Grizzles
6.Denver Nuggets
7.Dallas Mavericks
8.Golden State Warriors

Actual Standings:

Eastern Conference
1.Miami Heat
2.Brooklyn Nets
3.New York Knicks
4.Milwaukee Bucks
5.Atlanta Hawks
6.Philadelphia 76ers
7.Boston Celtics
8.Charlotte Bobcats

Western Conference:

1.Memphis Grizzles
2.San Antonio Spurs
3.Oklahoma City Thunder
4.Golden State Warriors
5.Los Angeles Clippers
6.Utah Jazz
7.Denver Nuggets
8.Los Angeles Lakers

It’s still extremely early in the season, so I’m not too worried about my predictions. One indicator that things are going to change is the 8th seed in the Western Conference. Currently, the Lakers are sitting 8th with a below .500 record. I can’t remember the last time a team in the Western Conference made it to the playoffs with a losing record. You know what, it might have been the Sacramento Kings in 1996 when we finished 39-43. But I’m too lazy to look it up right now. All I know is that will change by the end of the season. I fully expect the Bucks to slide out of the playoffs and the Boston Celtics will make a late season surge to get back into the top three.

I guess I can look on the bright side. If the season ended today, I’d still get the Kings playoff position right. \(^_^)/
