UFC 172 Predictions

maxresdefault

Hey fight fans, we have a great card this Saturday UFC 172 Jones vs. Teixeira in the Baltimore Arena. You can see this card only on pay-per-view 7 p.m price ranges from 44.99-54.99. The question everyone is asking ” Will Jones be able to handle Teixeira’s punching power?” I’ll answer this question and give you my predictions for this card.

UFC172_468963_EventFeatureLight Heavyweight Championship Fight:

Jon “Bones” Jones (Champion) vs. Glover Teixiera

Glover Teixiera is heavy handed with knockout power in both hands. He has a 20 fight win streak that has lasted 8 years. Which in MMA is a hard thing to accomplish at any level. The former training partner of UFC Champion Chuck Liddell has a lot of hype behind him, but will that be enough to dethrone Jones? I am not so sure. I feel that Teixiera doesn’t have the speed necessary to keep up with Jones. Jones the definition of a true mix martial artist has the advantage in all areas except in the knockout power department. That is the only way I see Teixiera winning the fight is by getting close and working some dirty boxing and catching Jones with a powerful hook. Otherwise I see Jones wining this fight by submission in the second round.

Winner: Jon Jones

Phil Davis vs. Anthony Johnson

I believe this fight will turn into a wrestling match which will result in Phil Davis dominated the match. If Anthony Johnson can defend the takedown and  keep the fight standing. All bets are off Johnson has the Knockout power to put anyone to sleep including Davis. With that said that will be Johnson’s best bet to win this fight. Otherwise It will be another win for Phil Davis and if it is impressive enough it will lead him to a title fight.

Winner: Phil Davis

Luke Rockhold vs. Tim Boetsch

The former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold appears to have a easy fight. With all respect to Tim Boetsch anyone and everyone in the UFC is a dangers opponent, but Rockhold is superior in all aspect of MMA. The AKA fighter is more dynamic in the striking and ground game which will lead to a quick fight resulting in Rockhold picking up a TKO victory in the first round.

Winner Luke Rockhold

Other Fight Predictions:

Jim Miller Defeating yancy Mendiros

Andre Fili Defeating Max Holloway

Joseph Benavides Defeating Tim Elliot

Charlie Brenneman Defeating Danny Castillo
