TUF 20 Episode 4 Results and Recap

Angela Hill

UFC reality show The Ultimate Fighter is in its 20th Season. Team Melendez has 16 seed Angela Hill (1-0) up against Team Pettis number 1 Seed Carla Esparza (9-2) and Current Invicta Strawwieght Champion. Ezparza is the favorite to win the tournament. Winner of the show will become the UFC Strawwieght Champion.

Currently Team Pettis has won all the previous fight and are riding a 3 fight win streak. Previous winner where Joanne “jojo” Calderwood, Randa Markos and Jessica Penne. If Esparza wins that will leave team Melendez winless.

The last time Hill fought was at Invicta fighting championship 4. Hill Defeated Bec Rawling a current TUF 20 Alum. Carla Esparza has also had a long layoff, it has been over a year since she has been in the Cage. Esparza was scared that she would not be ready to get back in the cage due to ring rust “I’m afraid that I don’t remember how it feels to get punched in the face” Esparza shared her feeling with teammate Felice Herrig.

A classic battle between a striker (Hill) and a grappler (Esparza). From the opening bell Esparza controlled and took Hill down and put a beating on her. Esparza landing Heavy show staying on Hills Back like a monkey. Esparza softened up Hill with punches and eventually causing Hill to make a mistake and Esparza snuck in a Rear naked choke, causing Hill to tapout in the first round. With that win Esparza moves to the next round and brought Team Pettis to a 4-0 start. Next week Felice Herrig (Team Pettis) will Face Heather Clark (Team Melendez)
